System /IT Support Engineer

Job Title:  System /IT Support Engineer
Reporting Line: Head of Information Technology

Location: Lekki, Lagos

About the role:
We seek a hands-on and results-driven System/IT Support Engineer to join our tech engineering team in delivering and maintaining efficient infrastructure, network and software systems and solutions that meets company’s culture, business and project requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration.
  • Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues and provide first-hand support.
  • Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits.
  • Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g., software developers)
  • Ability to work effectively with team members (infrastructure, network, software, and business solutions) towards meeting company and client objectives
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to unit Head and Team Lead
  • Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
  • Ensure all technical issues are properly logged
  • Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
  • Follow up with all staff to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports.

Required   Skills and Competencies

  • 1- 2years prior experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role
  • Good understanding of web/software development (WordPress Management, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Vue.js), PHP environment (Laravel), etc)
  • Manage and monitor website infrastructure performance
  • Create and update website page
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software (eg. Zendesk)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal.
